Second album, after their debut ‘Lost in Infinity’ on Claus Larsen’s LÆBEL back in 2019!
AEX was formed in Copenhagen in 2016. Since the release of their debut, AEX have
mainly played high-profile gigs, playing support gigs at major venues for killer electro
bands like Nitzer Ebb, Solar Fake, Melotron, Agent Side Grinder, Sturm Café, Vive La
Fête…
Their second album ‘AEon deuX’ is presenting an intimate, pulsating sound... It’s melodic, melancholic and supremely danceable electro with deep roots in both traditional synth-pop and in the darker, more ambient influenced side of electronic music. The synth-based duo possess the hard edge of Depeche Mode, but also the purer pop elements that resonate with fans of influential bands like The Human League, Erasure and Ultravox.
The singer Laura Noszczyk’s vocals are very strong and remind me of Kirlian Camera’s Elena Alice Fossi… The album was entirely produced and mixed by Krisztián Árvai (Black Nail Cabaret) and mastered by Martin Bowes (Attrition). The album also features: Mikkel Borbjerg Jakobsen of The Foreign Resort (bass), Karin My (cello), Martin Bowes (spoken word) and many more. “AEon deuX” pulls you somewhat backwards in time to the eighties’ melancholic electro, and with Laura’s passionately strong yet airy vocals and Steffen’s ice-clear and memorable melodies it´s an album with a strong and unique sound. Highly recommended!
