Buried in Roses is music inspired by the forces of nature, desire, beauty, and death, written by Alexander Hanifin and Tessa Harmon. The band started in May of 2019 shortly after the two musicians began dating. After a run of successful gigs was halted by COVID, lockdown inspired Tessa and Alexander to self-record their songs. Together, they build lush walls of reverb-laden guitar and haunting vocals, invoking sounds that feel both precarious and heavy with longing. Audience members describe their sound at live shows as massive, hypnotic, genre-defying, and divinely inspired. While Buried in Roses is friends with what dwells in the shadows, they never turn away from the sun!
