Deathproof is a Canadian-American electronic music duo formed by producer/singer Chris DeMarcus (Front Line Assembly, Stiff Valentine, Dismantled) and drummer/singer Jason Bazinet (Front Line Assembly, Sounds of Mass Production, 16volt).
Deathproof is primarily known for their remixes of industrial dance tracks, although they overlap considerably with house techno, hip-hop, and heavy metal. They've retooled tracks for Information Society, Aesthetic Perfection, System Syn, MC Lars, Unit 187, Angelspit, Mesh, and over 50 other electronic and rock artists.They've also produced full records for Stiff Valentine, Sounds of Mass Production, and Slave Unit.
Chris explains the project as a bit of a paradox, "There is something old-school in everything we do. But we've got too many influences to sound simply retro -- and I like modern production techniques too much! We got two heads, one always looking forward and the other backward."
