With their fourth album "Velocifero" ("Bringer of Speed"), Ladytron pursue their own musical vision further and cross the borders of the electronic genre. The album mirrors the tirelessness that helped the band on their extensive touring over the last couple of years – it’s resisting the standstill.
"Velocifero" leads the listener through a wide range of emotions, from sentimental and blissful ("Tomorrow") to forthright and passionate ("Deep Blue"). Songs like "Predict The Day” with its jagged guitars show the rock influences as clear as never before. Ladytron produced the new album on their own, with help by Vicarious Bliss (Ed Banger Records) and Alessandro Cortini (Nine Inch Nails). The diverse rhythms and multi-layered effects and synthesizers prove that misleading comparisons are inept for good.
