“The Dirt“ dreht sich komplett um vergangene Zeiten! Viele der Songs entstammen der Phase 1988-1990 und wurden auf alten Vierspurrekordern vergessen. Pouppee Fabrikk haben diese nun neu aufgenommen und jetzt ein Album am Start, das man auch vor 20 Jahren hätte veröffentlichen können. „It is an honest attempt at recreating the past by working in the same way as we did when we started the band back in 1987 - no midi, no retakes, no polish - just primitive electronic music with a lot of attitude“, sagt Frontmann Henrik Björkk, der mit zunehmendem Alter eher härter als milder wurde... Bei Poupee Fabrikk ging es nie um Perfektion oder darum, Liebling der Massen zu werden: „We don´t need to fake the aggression. We don´t need to dress up. We do our thing, and if you like it, join the party. If not, fuck off!“, stellt er fest.

Der minimalistische Elektronikstil voller Kraft wurde oft mit Größen wie DAF und Nitzer Ebb verglichen. Die die-hard Fans werden die limitierte 2CD Box lieben! Eine 16-Track Bonus CD mit geretteten Songs aus dem Privatarchiv der Band liegt bei. Das Material reicht vom allerersten Pouppee Fabrikk Song bis hin zu Aufnahmen der extrem seltenen „D-D-D“ Kassette, von der es überhaupt nur 20 Kopien gab! Gutes altes Zeug, das damals direkt auf Band in Leif Holms Wohnung aufgenommen wurde. Poupee Fabrikk haben sich entschieden, den alten Sound nicht glatt zu bügeln. Der dreckige Sound der Originale ist noch da! Pouppee fabrikk sind wieder am Start...
