Formed in Minneapolis in 2009, The Rope weaves post-punk, darkwave, and gothic threads into a uniquelydark and driving sound, drawinginfluence from bands ranging from The Chameleons to The Sisters of Mercy.
Known for their dynamic live performances and DIY ethos, they have built a loyal following both home and abroad. Over the years, The Rope has released highly regarded EPs such as ‘The Rope EP’ (2011) or ‘Waters Rising’ (2015), assembled on the 2019 album ‘Collection’. The same Year saw the release of the much praised and very successful debut album ,Lillian’. Their all new album ,Nightbird, features 8 all new songs.
