Varg i Veum is an electronic duo based in Naples, Italy consisting in Alessandra and Michele (former singer of post-punk act Hapax). Their first album comes in a digipak with 8pages booklet.
The band combines coldwave’s sonic paradigm with medieval folk elements, to build a multi-layered melancholic sound through domineering electronics and heavily reverberated vocal lines.
Thanks to Alessandra’s solid academic background in Germanic philology, the lyrics are largely inspired by the old norse poetry, but also by English romantics to some extent, restoring with new verses the ancient rhymes in a desolate monological maelstrom.
