Limited edition of 500 copies! ‘Madame Underground’ is Brazil’s longest existing Night Club,
founded more than 37 years ago in Sao Paulo and covering more than 1000 quare meters of
surface, with restaurant, 2 dancefloors, live-stage etc.etc.
Wave is presenting the first CD Edition for this legendary club, that opened in 1983. The
Club is a very important center of rock and alternative bands since the first days. Many of
the pioneering Brazilian wave artists started their career there in the 80s and 90s and it was
always a kind of ‘The Place to be!” club for everybody who was looking for new and different
music. The Club became a real trendy and modern place, where all kind of artists spent their
time – including musicians, punks, designers, painters – very much like the famous BLITZ
club in London.
Due to the Covid19 situation, the club was forced to close since March 2020 and in order
to survive, they are doing fast food deliveries every day, and broadcast a DAILY 10 hours
Live DJ-set on facebook, website and Instagram. Over past months, the club is looking
back on more than 170 live-broadcasts, 10 hours every day – NO STOP and including 3
Live concerts on yougube with popular bands Pitch Yarn of Matter and Technique.
This CD is aimed to give another helping hand to this legendary and important club in South
America and all income from it will go to one of the few clubs, where international wave and
Electro acts are able to play live – bands that played at Madame Underground Club in the
past include CLAN OF XYMOX, COVENANT, A SPLIT SECOND, HAUJOBB, HANTE.,
KAS PRODUCT, MINUIT MACHINE, DRAB MAJESTY and many more!
The CD features tracks that played in the club and some popular Brazilian acts. All artists
offered their tracks for free, to support the club. So the compilation has some old Tracks,
classics played at the club AND news tracks, that turned into hits in Brasil by being played
every day during the live broadcasts!
